Dr. Nicholas D. Caccavo is a graduate of the University of Bologna, Italy -- one of the oldest and most prestigious medical school in the Western Hemisphere. He received his post-graduate medical training at SUNY Downstate Medical College and Long Island College Hospital where he currently serves as Director of Cardiac Rehabilitation, instructing and supervising physicians enrolled in the cardiovascular training program. Dr. Caccavo is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular disease and Nuclear Cardiology and is President and Chief Radiation Officer at Diagnostic Cardiology Associates. He is appointed to the National Speaker Bureaus of several leading pharmaceutical companies where he regularly offers lectures to other physicians and specialists on the latest developments in cholesterol and hypertension management. He has recently been appointed to the National Republican Congressional Committee Physician Advisory Board where his input is helping to restructure medical delivery for our nation.
Dr. Caccavo has over 25 years of clinical cardiac experience and is certified to perform invasive cardiac procedures including cardiac catheterizations, cardiac pacemakers and all aspects of acute in-hospital cardiac monitoring. He is also fully trained in Nuclear Cardiology, Echocardiography, Carotid Duplex, 24-Hour Holter analysis, Gated CT coronary angiography and EBCT evaluation.
Dr. Caccavo strongly believes in an aggressive approach to health maintenance and preventative medicine; he offers a comprehensive initial evaluation including cardiac risk profiling and periodic disease screening initiative. He and his staff firmly believe in maintaining a strong and close relationship with all his patients.
